I started to feel that sitting here scratching myself to death wasn’t the answer – so I got up, did some laundry, cleaned up – and gathered most of our items. We are leaving Key Largo on Monday. Staying busy keeps me from scratching.
Being an Oregonian – it might sound odd that I love the rain! In warm climates – it just feels refreshing and renewing. As I was relaxing out in the screened in porch area – I noticed lightening in the distance. No noise – no thunder – just the sky lighting up randomly. I went out on the deck, which sits directly on the canal, and sat in the tandem rocker. Carelessly, I rocked back and forth waiting for the sky to do another dance for me. As it started to rain – and I did hear a few rumbles in the distance, I came inside. Finished cleaning and organizing my scattered items. The rain came down hard – out of nowhere – just really, really hard rain. Felt like a good time to light some candles, burn incense and bring Buddha and Shakti out to join me in the outdoor living space. I turned all the lights down – opened windows, I have a thing for ambiance . Instantly the scent of fresh soil, wet soil swept through the room. God, that was nice. Once the space was to my liking…I felt the night wasn’t over.
Funny how a mood or an attitude can change with a new way of looking at the situation, I wish I did this more, but I won’t, so I will cherish this moment. Might even go back out and dance some more. Still raining.
